Marine Wildlife Distress Contacts

Below are some phone numbers to call to report stranded or distressed marine animals. Understand that ordinary human intervention is prohibited by the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Add these numbers to your cell phone so you can report sightings on the spot.

NOAA State Marine Mammal Hotline: 800.853.1964 For stranded or injured marine mammals. Operated 24/7. They will give you a local number to the nearest group that can help.

Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS): 425.787.2500 extension 817 For injured or distressed wildlife, including mammals and shore birds. PAWS is located 20 miles north of Seattle. Its staff will help determine what level of assistance an animal may need.
