Seasonal Lock Closures on Columbia River
Navigation locks at Bonneville, The Dalles, and John Day dams on the Columbia River will be closing for general maintenance, inspection, and repairs starting at 6am on March 8th, 2008 and reopening at 12am, March 23rd. See public notice for details.
John Day Navigation Lock Three 6-Hour Closures
The John Day navigation lockwill be closed from February 28 through March 1, 2008 from 6am-12pm each day to perform preparatory work on the downstream lift gate machinery.
Additionally, a contingency plan of four optional 12-hour navigation lock closures from March 31 throughApril 3, 2008 is scheduled in case the repairs cannot be completed as planned. Please refer to attached Public Notice OD-ST-08-02.

The partnership of agencies, organizations and individuals working to establish the Northwest Discovery Water Trail held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony at Bonneville Dam under sunny skies August 27. Congressman Brian Baird was among the speakers to herald the good news of so many entities working together to build a better future, on the water.
